Youth Coast Guard Academy Introduction Mission
Project AIM is the US Coast Guard
"Academy Introduction Mission."

Project AIM is a competitive program for High School Juniors interested in investigating a career as an officer in the US Coast Guard. Selected students experience academy life for one week during the summer between their junior and senior years of high school.  During that week, they experience first hand life as a first-year student at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.

This is a "Try it before you buy it" introduction to life at the Academy.

A few details:

AIM is an outstanding opportunity for Juniors who might be interested in the Academy and a nautical career as a commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard. AIM participants live the routine of new cadets, from reveille to taps, experiencing many of the exciting activities of Coast Guard Academy freshman.

The  United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut is the only national service Academy whose admission is strictly by academic competition and not by congressional appointment. Also, geographical quota applies to Coast Guard Academy appointments. Want to learn more?  Click HERE.
